Twelve: why are we fugitives? (pt 2)
Muggles. Muggles ruined my life. Not that I ever had a really good life. People think my family is strange for hating muggles. I used to not mind them. But then I befriended a muggle, and it changed the course of my life.
As you have already been told by my friend Clara, the Harry Potter stories are real. Along with her I was cut out of the plot. My name is Jacqui Malfoy, younger sister of Draco Malfoy, twin sister of Hannah Malfoy, daughter of Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy. Nobody knew who I was for the first 11 years of my life, only my parents, Draco and Hannah. I was kept hidden with my sister, locked in a dungeon to be exact, because our parents didn’t appreciate us. They compared us to their perfect son Draco, and to them, we were nothing. It wasn’t until Hannah and I turned 11 and got our letters that we started to hope people would finally know we existed. We wouldn’t have to hide in the shadows much longer. On the first night we were expected to be put in Slytherin like the rest of our family, however, we were put in Hufflepuff. Our parents already hated us, and getting sorted into Hufflepuff, the complete OPPOSITE of Slytherin, didn’t help very much. We were ignored by mostly everyone, blending in with the other students, never talking nor having fun. But I don’t think we would have survived the year if it weren’t for our friends. Riley Lovegood, a Ravenclaw and one of the most brilliant people I’ve met. Clara Weasley, another Ravenclaw and one of the most unique people I’ve ever known with a similar story as Hannah and I. And lastly my Gryffindor friend Lily Granger, one of the nicest and bravest people in the world. But of course quidditch kept me going. I was a first year seeker just like the famous Harry Potter. That year Hufflepuff actually had a team better than Gryffindor. Hannah and I had fun playing against Clara and Riley on the Ravenclaw team, and Lily with Gryffindor. The year was actually turning out to be good after all. We left Hogwarts anxious to return, but what our summer withheld was beyond our wildest dreams.
It was something that would affect our lives forever…
